At yesterday’s (23 June 2022) General Assembly of the European Association of Communication Directors (EACD), Andrew Hillier was appointed an EACD Board Member.

The European Association of Communication Directors

The European Association of Communication Directors (EACD) is a multinational organisation driving excellence in the communications profession throughout Europe. It provides a platform for Europe’s senior communications leaders to connect, deepen their expertise, share best practice, establish and promote relevant standards.

Leadership in transnational communication is of increasing importance within the dynamics of European and global communities. For communicators in multinational companies, associations, institutions and politics, a global perspective is crucial to effective strategic and practical communications and stakeholder engagement. It is of equal importance in establishing and developing networks across cultural, political and linguistic borders, allowing communication directors and spokespersons to exchange experiences, opinions, and knowledge.

Engagement in European communications since 2006

Andrew has been an active member of the EACD since its foundation in Brussels in November 2006. Both as a consultant and as an in-house chief communications officer, he has led corporate affairs, communications and stakeholder engagement throughout the EU on issues as diverse as security, nuclear energy, logistics, animal health, UK inward investment, banking support services and motorsport. He has also collaborated in projects with leading European creative talent, including most notably, Morten Saether.

Andrew commented on his appointment, “I am proud and honoured to be appointed to the board of such a prestigious and progressive organisation. As a Europhile and communications professional, I am passionate in sharing and promoting best practice, learning and exchanging new ideas. I look forward to working alongside colleagues and members, championing excellence in communications throughout Europe and beyond.”
