EACD Italy regional debate, Milan

Last night in Milan, The EACD Italy Country Chapter, in association with BrightHouse and Boston Consulting Group hosted a panel debate on ESG as the golden thread running though public and private sector organisations. The event was held at Boston Consulting Group’s offices in Milan with the panel moderated by EACD Italy Lead Lorenzo Brufani with support from EACD Board Members Elena Zambolin and Andrew Hillier.

The event and panel debate explored the risks, challenges and exciting opportunities associated with placing ESG as the strategic driver at the heart of an organisation. Stakeholder groups, employees, commentators, shareholders and pension funds are all applying increasing pressure upon organisations to deliver ESG meaningfully and to evidence the positive impact of doing so. A number of case studies were explored and best practice shared.

Distinguished panel convened to explore ESG

In addition to Lorenzo, Andrew and Elena, a distinguished panel gathered to discuss ESG. Francesco Guidara, Managing Director at BrightHouse was joined by Lucia Silva, Group Head of Sustainability and Social Responsibility at Generali, Luca Brambilla, Director at Accademia di Comunicazione Strategica and Salvatore Ricco, Global Chief Communication Officer at Amplifon.

Call to action against misinformation and disinformation

Towards the end of the evening Andrew Hillier emphasised the importance of communications leaders championing truth, integrity, accuracy and moderation in an increasingly populist and fragmented world. He also cautioned against the increase in the spread of misinformation, facilitated primarily by unchecked social media, and the insidious damage caused by orchestrated disinformation campaigns.
