Hillier Consulting today launches its new corporate identity for Thorngate Churcher Trust. The new identity, necessitated by the charity’s name change, updates the organisation’s image in keeping with its modern management approach to providing high quality sheltered housing and residential care.

Hillier Consulting has managed communications, media and marketing for the Trust since 2012

Founded in 1868, Thorngate Churcher Trust is now a modern, not-for-profit registered social landlord providing sheltered housing and residential care. Hillier Consulting has managed communications, media and marketing for the Trust since 2012. Having already devised and developed the Thorngate Living brand, Hillier Consulting was commissioned in December 2016 to devise and deliver the communications strategy for the Trust’s name change from Thorngate Almshouse Trust to Thorngate Churcher Trust.

Thorngate Living brand overhauled and rationalised within the new overall visual identity

Opportunity was taken to review the organisation’s visual identity and create a clean, contemporary new look to more accurate reflect the sophistication of the Trust’s approach to providing modern purpose-built sheltered housing and high quality residential care in its care home, Russell Churcher Court.

The Trust’s new name remembers the founding families, the Thorngates and Churchers and, whilst celebrating the charity’s foundations and history, broadens the scope for new charitable enterprises within the Trust’s charitable objects.

The new corporate identity and branding manual created to facilitate the project includes all the typefaces required for application across all media. The colour palette has been completely updated. A new graphic element ‘Sheltering Roofs’ has been devised as an integral part of the new visual identity and a version of this is intended for use online as a clearly recognisable icon and favicon.

The Thorngate Living brand is also overhauled and rationalised within the new overall visual identity. Hillier Consulting is now applying the new look throughout the organisation.
