Hillier Consulting has written, directed and produced a new corporate video for Ballinger Equine, the multi-award winning equine veterinary practice. The video which is the first in a new series for the practice introduces key members of clinical and management staff and showcases their work in real-life situations. Hillier Consulting has also established a new YouTube channel for Ballinger Equine.

Professional production team for location shooting

The production was shot entirely on location in Hertfordshire over two and a half days during a week in early November. Meticulous scheduling meant a huge amount of footage was able to be shot at a large number of locations within a compressed timescale. Scripted and directed by Andrew Hillier, the video was shot by St Albans based Yellow Lizard which also handled post-production, again under tight direction from Hillier Consulting.

Cinematic 4K for high quality viewing

The video is shot in 4K for a cinematic feel and extensive use is made of tracking and panning, following the surgeons as they move around their patients, administering treatment. Effective use is made of late autumn available light to ensure the realism of the footage to an audience very familiar with the subject matter. Whilst the video is hosted on Vimeo for embedding into online and social media platforms, Hillier Consulting also launched a Ballinger Equine YouTube channel for ease of client access and promotional purposes.

Andrew Hillier, commenting today at the launch of the new video, said: “This is Ballinger Equine’s first step into filming and everybody in the team has given 100%, even when outside their comfort zone, which is reflected in a terrific production. We are most grateful to the Ballinger Equine clients who bravely agreed to step up for cameo appearances. They were all absolutely super. None of their testimonials were scripted and all were recorded live on location. This adds to the honesty and realism of the film.

“I am grateful to the Yellow Lizard team who rose to the challenge of filming around large animals, veterinary surgeons and complex diagnostic equipment, in varying light conditions with little or no opportunity for re-takes. The shoot schedule was demanding, involving set up at multiple locations around Hertfordshire throughout each day. Careful advance preparation of the tight script was a considerable benefit.”

Hillier Consulting is looking forward to producing a series of videos for Ballinger Equine, covering a wide range of subjects, in the coming months. The video content will be varied, shot specifically for broadcast via different online and social media platforms. But professionalism and excellence, hallmarks of the Ballinger Equine brand, will not be compromised.
